PRESENTATION AWARD
The purpose of the FLL project presentation is to show that individuals can make a difference by researching a problem, then contributing ideas and solutions to real-world issues. Your conclusion and solutions are the result of working hard to truly understand the magnitude of a problem through research and hands-on learning experience. During your project planning, you used your teamwork abilities and talents to put together information, create a solution, and help other understand how your ideas could work .

INNOVATIVE SOLUTION AWARD
Solutions to problems come in many different forms, limited only by the team's imagination. this award recognizes the team that developed the most thought provoking and innovative resolution to the "OCEAN ODYSSEY" Project.

TEAM SPIRIT AWARD
You know they are coming before you see them. Their enthusiasm and laughter catches you off guard every time. You may not know the team name or number, but you can describe what they look like and what they do. everyone knows them! They rock the house, and they make science and technology fun, accessible, and rewarding.

ADULT COACH/MENTOR AWARD
Many teams reach significant milestones of success, thanks to their close relationship with an adult coach or mentor. It is this adult who graciously gives his or her time and understands the need for kids to have hands-on technology experience. This award goes to the coach or mentor whose wisdom, guidance, patience, and devotion were most clearly evident in his/her team's discussion with the judges.

YOUNG ADULT MENTOR AWARD
This award is presented to the young adult, high school through college age coach/mentor, who's impact and inspiration, devotion, guidance, and support were most clearly evident in the team's discussion with the judges.

AGAINST ALL ODDS AWARD
Adversity and hardship come in many forms and sizes, but despite this, FLL teams learn to overcome incredible odds, persevere and never give up. They take a bad situation or problem and do whatever it takes to adapt and improvise to keep going. We recognize this team for their stick-to-it determination.

ROBOT DESIGN AWARD
Some designs may be hit or miss, but when they work, people say "Wow, that's cool!" Other designs may not be very fancy, but they do the exact same thing time after time. The Robot Design award recognizes a team who's strategy, construction, or programming stand out because of fresh thinking and innovation, or through clean, precise dependability.

ROBOT PERFORMANCE AWARD
Sometimes we measure success by a number only, but in this case, number one represents hours of strategizing and improving team members' mechanical and programming expertise. This award goes to the teams whose overall package of robot design, programming, strategy, and teamwork helped to achieve the competition goal of acquiring more points than an other team.

TEAMWORK AWARD
Teamwork is critical to succeed in FLL and is the key ingredient in any team's success. Members best demonstrate extraordinary enthusiasm and spirit, exceptional partnership, the utmost respect for their own teammates, and supports and encouragement of fellow members. The demonstrated confidence, energy, strong problem solving skills, and great group dynamics.

Many high quality teams do not fit the mold for an existing award, but nonetheless deserve one. this award gives the judges the freedom to recognize the most remarkable team for which a standard award does not exist.

DIRECTOR'S AWARD
This most prestigious award goes to the team who, in the big picture, is the strongest in all of the categories combined. The Directors' Award encompasses five key elements o the Technical and Team Performance Awards - Robot Design, Robot Performance, Project Presentation, and Teamwork, aw well as honouring the team's understanding and practice of Gracious Professionalism, exemplifying FLL Values and their understanding of the true meaning of FIRST and FIRST LEGO League.
